Project Description:
The project involved the design of a water treatment plant using membrane technology and a UV disinfection system, 118 km of PVC / HDPE distribution pipe (200 to 500mm in diameter) and with 3500 and 3000 m3 buried concrete reservoirs. The project will service the Kananaskis Village, Nakiska Recreation Area, Kananaskis Golf Course and Mount Kidd RV Park, located with Kananaskis Country, Alberta.

Project Description:
The project will involve the construction of a new 3000 m3/d water treatment plant using membrane technology and a UV disinfection system. The project will also include up to 10 km of PVC / HDPE distribution pipe, 200 to 500mm in diameter combined with two 3500 and 3000 m3 buried concrete reservoirs. The project will service the Kananaskis Village, Nakiska Recreation Area, Kananaskis Golf Course and Mount Kidd RV Park.

Clearwater County Nordegg Water System Upgrade 2006
Project Description:
The project included the design and construction of upgrades to the Nordegg water system. The upgrades included a new well, addition of filters for iron and manganese removal, upgraded instrumentation, and a complete new PLC based control system.

County of Stettler - Endiang and Byemoor Water Storage Facilities
Project Description:
The project involved the construction of a 160 m3 buried concrete potable water reservoir combined with distribution system and truckfill station. Each reservoir services the Hamlet of Endiang and Byemoor.

M.D. of Rocky View No. 44 Dalroy Sewage Transfer Station - Stage 1
Project Description:
This work is the first stage of construction of a regional sewage transfer system. Stage 1 work involves a 4 km long forcemain to transmit sewage from the Lakes of Muirfield development to a transfer facility at Dalroy. This transfer facility is a cast-in-place holding tank with a capacity of 765 m3. Stage 2 work currently under design includes conversion of the transfer station into a regional sewage lift station, as well as the construction of the forcemain from the lift station to the sewage treatment plant in Langdon.

Newell Regional Services Corporation - Upgrades to Treated Water Reservoirs
Project Description:
Upgrades of water treatment Plants in Tilley, Rolling Hills, Scandia, Rainier and Lake Newell Resort to convert to a treated water reservoir and pumping station receiving water from the Newell Regional Services Corporation Regional Water Treatment Plant located at the City of Brooks. Upgrades included process piping, control and instrumentation upgrades and a SCADA system linked to the regional water treatment plant. The project also included three pressure reducing stations and two meter vaults.

Rocky View County - Balzac Transmission Main and Highway 2 Regional
Project Description:
Rocky View County and the Rocky View Water Co-op Ltd. retained MPE to investigate the options, costs, and pipeline alignments required to expand potable water service to the Highway 2 corridor north of Calgary and further east. The County desires to service the corridor for future commercial, industrial and residential uses

Rocky View County - East Balzac Water Supply Project Potable Water Supply Expansion
Project Description:
The project involved the construction of a 3.9 MLD water plant, 750 m3 buried concrete reservoir, distribution pumping capacity of 250 hp, a 400,000 m3 raw water reservoir and 19 km transmission main (400 mm). Treatment process included an aeration system (raw water), Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) technologies and Ultraviolet Disinfection. The system will operate year round providing potable water to the East Balzac commercial and industrial areas.

Special Areas Board - Cessford and District Water Line
Project Description:
This project involved a new water transmission line, 85 km long, to supply the H.K.R,W,C, to the communities of Pollockville, Cessford and Wardlow. The pipeline consists of 26.8 km of 150mm diameter HDPE pipe and 59 km of 100 mm diameter HDPE pipe. The system also includes 21 isolation valves and 2 pressure reducing valve stations. Design flow is 200 m3/day.
The project also included the expansion of two existing clearwells to provide additional contact time and storage. The H.K.R.W.C. Clearwell expansion consisted of 2300 m3 buried concrete reservoir that services the entire H.K.R.W.C. distribution system. The Craigmyle Clearwell expansion is a 225 m3 semi-buried concrete reservoir that services the Village of Craigmyle.

Starland County & County of Stettler Regional Water Transmission Line
Project Description:
The project includes a 45 km long regional water transmission pipeline from the Hamlet of Craigmyle in Starland County to the Hamlets of Endiang and Byemoor in the County of Stettler. The pipeline consists of 27.2 km of 150 mm (6” nom.) diameter PVC and 18.1 km of 150 mm (6” nom.) diameter HDPE pipe.
Associated pumping and storage facilities are also being designed for construction in 2008.

Starland Water Authority - Morrin, Munson, Starland County
Project Description:
This is a unique regional initiative to supply potable water from the Town of Drumheller to the Villages of Morrin and Munson, plus rural users in Starland County. It includes installation of 85 km of water mains, including a 34 km main from Drumheller to Munson and Morrin (250 mm, 200 mm & 150 mm diameter), and a new pump station in Drumheller and mechanical upgrades in both Morrin and Munson plants. The pump station also includes a boster pump to create a new pressure zone north of Drumheller. Three contracts were let. The project involved significant inter-municipal coordination and significant environmental and historic resource remediation, given the high palaeontological significance of the Red Deer River Valley.

Stoney Tribal Administration - Eden Valley Treated Water Reservoir and Pipeline
Project Description:
Work involved the installation of a 910 m3 underground concrete treated water reservoir and concrete mechanical building. The work also included the installation of approximately 3.5km HDPE water pipeline between 150mm and 200mm diameter. A pressure reducing station and a reservoir control vault were also installed.

Town of Hanna - Acadia Site Servicing
Project Description:
The project involved design and installation of water and sanitary mains to service the Acadia Foundation Senior’s Residence.
Work included the installation of over 600 meters of 150 to 250mm diameter watermains and tie-in to existing Town water system; and installation of over 115 meters of 200mm diameter sanitary sewer mains and tie-in to existing Town sanitary collection system.
