||Projected $5.67 million. (Jointly funded)
This is a unique regional initiative to supply potable water from the Town of Drumheller to the Villages of Morrin and Munson, plus rural users in Starland County. It includes installation of 85 km of water mains, including a 34 km main from Drumheller to Munson and Morrin (250 mm, 200 mm & 150 mm diameter), and a new pump station in Drumheller and mechanical upgrades in both Morrin and Munson plants. The pump station also includes a boster pump to create a new pressure zone north of Drumheller. Three contracts were let. The project involved significant inter-municipal coordination and significant environmental and historic resource remediation, given the high palaeontological significance of the Red Deer River Valley.
