This project involved a new water transmission line, 85 km long, to supply the H.K.R,W,C, to the communities of Pollockville, Cessford and Wardlow. The pipeline consists of 26.8 km of 150mm diameter HDPE pipe and 59 km of 100 mm diameter HDPE pipe. The system also includes 21 isolation valves and 2 pressure reducing valve stations. Design flow is 200 m3/day.
The project also included the expansion of two existing clearwells to provide additional contact time and storage. The H.K.R.W.C. Clearwell expansion consisted of 2300 m3 buried concrete reservoir that services the entire H.K.R.W.C. distribution system. The Craigmyle Clearwell expansion is a 225 m3 semi-buried concrete reservoir that services the Village of Craigmyle.
