Corporate Milestones

MPE is an engineering consulting firm with an excellent reputation and a solid, longstanding client base. The company continues to grow in size and now employs upwards of 200 people in our seven offices.

When MPE was founded on January 1, 1983, its focus was largely engineering and project management services for the water resources sector. Although this was the initial emphasis, the experience of the founders allowed MPE to conduct work in the municipal market as well.

Since then, MPE has developed into and remains a successful professional engineering company. MPE has diversified its services to include the water resources, municipal, building services and control/instrumentation sectors. In support of these sectors, MPE has established expertise in various engineering disciplines including structural, mechanical, electrical, and computing.
 

Some of the milestones in MPE’s history:

2018   MPE expands to Manitoba and opens an office in Winnipeg to service the Winnipeg region.
 
2017   MPE opens its Regina office to better service the Regina region.
 
2014   MPE St. Albert office merges with DCL Siemens and relocates to DCL offices in Edmonton.
 
2014   MPE Calgary relocates to new offices.
 
2013 MPE opens its Saskatoon office on May 1, 2013 to better service the Saskatchewan region.
 
2012 MPE opens a new office in Edmonton on May 1, 2012 to expand the Edmonton-north market.
 
2011 MPE opens a new office in Brooks on June 1, 2011 to better service existing local clients in the area.
 
2006 MPE opens the Red Deer office starting with four people; current staff of 12. The objectives were to better service existing clients and develop new clients within the central and northern Alberta market area.
 
2003 MPE opens the Medicine Hat office starting with three people. The objectives were to better service existing clients within the market area and expand services to new clients.
 
1998 The senior shareholders developed the original business plan for MPE providing a common “road map” for the future direction of the company. The philosophy of succession management was carried on by the new owners.
 
   
1989 MPE opens up its Calgary office.
1987 A succession management plan is adopted to retain high caliber employees.
 
1983 MPE was founded in Lethbridge.
